The day is finally here!

Yes. It's a happy day! ...but also a little sad.

That's right, today is--!!

--the release of Series 22, The Heroes' Paean!!!!!!!!

Da-da-da-daaa!

So we finally reach the last series. I am moved.

Yep, with this set, every Cipher card will officially be out. Lookin' forward to what's new this time!

I have lots and looots of decks I want to make with the new cards, so I have to collect as many as I can!

My lady has been very responsible in saving her money. As a reward, I will add a little bonus to your allowance.

R-Really!? Then I'll make you a deck too, Val!

...the culmination of Cipher... I wonder if it will be able to properly display it's beauty...?

Hehee, I can't wait. Let's hurry along with the card introduction.

Understood. This is the final series of Fire Emblem Cipher, "The Heroes' Paean"! I'm going to give you a thorough introduction!

Series 22 is, as implied by the illustration on the booster packs, a compilation of every game in the Fire Emblem series!

Th... that's so many titles! "The Heroes Paean" feels like a fitting name for it!

From what I heard, Producer Kawade had already decided that this would be the title for the final series back when series 1 released.

In fact, if I recall... the very first Marth card, card number 001, had a skill with that very name--The Hero's Paean.

Yeah! Take a look.

Cipher began with Marth alone singing a song of Victory. And Cipher ends with all the heroes doing the same... it's a fitting name for the match point!

And of course it isn't just the title, the cards make for a grand finale as well. Let's start introducing them!

We're starting with that connecting illustration we introduced before, the one that brings all of the main characters from the series together into a 13-card set!

Our esteemed illustrators are... Sir Daisuke Izuka, Sir Hidari, Lady Rika Suzuki, Sir Masaki Hirooka, Sir Eiji Kaneda, Lady Saori Toyota, Lady Sachiko Wada, Lady Senri Kita, Lady Mayo, Sir Kotaro Yamada, Sir Yusuke Kozaki, Sir Niji Hayashi, and Lady Chinatsu Kurahana.

Looking at it a second time, what a masterpiece... it does make one want to collect them all!

Actually, since the image is so large--both in dimensions and in file-size--I hear that coordinating this whole thing was quite difficult.

I see... information like that is interesting too...

This connecting illustration is really cool, but I like this card even more--it's so beautiful!

With Caeda as the centerpoint, it's an image of the heroines of the series in flight! Not only is it beautiful, but it really feels packed with Fire Emblem history.

Speaking of that, the card I have my eye on is this one.

In the midst of an ongoing battle... a scene of a peaceful day. Lady Corrin really is adorable here.

It's inspired by the spinoff comic "The Crown of Nibelung". The illustrator, Tama Yugyoji, really is talented.

It definitely gets to me... but my favorite card is this one!

N...Narcian!? Why him... he's an enemy!

C'mon, don't you get the appeal of a real cunning smile like that?

Well, let me show you all my favorite! This card is my personal pick!

As for myself, this card is quite beautiful in my humble opinion.

The young Prince Leif, and standing silently behind him, Bishop August, Duke Dryas, Sir Finn... it's a beautiful sight.

So if that's how you like it, could you be quiet for me too then?

...a card depicting a scene that changed the future... there is a lot of information to take in here...

Fire Emblem is a complex series where good and evil are not always distinct... many scenes like that also appear in Cipher cards, don't they?

Well, as for myself, I am usually a proponent of good over evil... but I found myself drawn to these cards.

The drama when the good that each side believes in collides! It is pure, but it is tragedy. How wonderful!

T-that's some good taste you've got there... don't you...

Ufufu... After an enthusiastic introduction, there is nothing more to say.

By the way, Miss Shade, which card is your favorite?

Is this really Miss Silk...? Well, whoever it is, the card is really cute!

You don't get it!? This isn't Echoes' Silk, it's Silk from the original Gaiden! You know, the one that came out on the SNES!! Isn't it amazing that we're getting a card like this all the way in 2020!? It's a miracle, it really is!

R-Right, right! A... ahahah... Miss Shade's getting pretty heated...

Ah! No, I have to collect myself... I lost my head a bit there.

On top of all of that... look! All 8 of us appear in series 22! I'm going to introduce each card... first, myself, Emma, Yuzu, and Randal!

Woooow! I look so coooool! I think it's safe to say I'm finally maturing!

And I... have finally unlocked the twin-bladed "Violet-Light Cross-Slash" skill! I wonder if my brother is smiling upon me out there.

My card's a real final gambit--and just look at me, surrounded by riches. Feels pretty fitting!

And not to be forgotte, Alice, Valjean, Niamh, and Poe!

My lady... how splendidly you've grown... you look like your mother when she was your age!

And you've got so many weapons, Val! Surely, you will be using them all to serve as my shield!

...my pursuit of Boundless Chaos continues... or so it says on my card...

I bear blessings for the good... and death for the evil. Just like Niamh, it doesn't look like my journey is over just yet. Heehee... heeheehee...

It looks like we've been split among the 8 different symbols, huh?

The numbers match up perfectly, one of us for each one, so it works out perfectly.

Hohoh... when you put it like that, it almost seems like fate!

There's a looot else to look forward to in this set... but I just don't have the time to introduce it all! Did I properly convey that it's a fitting finale for the series, I wonder?

Yeah! It's full of appeal!

Aye. Like a taiyaki stuffed with red bean paste all the way down to its tail!

How Cipher-like for them not to cut any corners even though this is the end of the line.
