The theme of series 20 is the battle the heroes wage against overwhelming power that engulfs the world in order to usher in a new era.
And among those heroes, first we will be introducing the Hoshido and Nohr cards from Fates! This series depicts the story surrounding three royals.
Three of them... by which you mean... do the three nations' leaders unite?
That's right! King of Hoshido, Ryoma, and King of Nohr, Xander! And... Corrin, Monarch of Valla!
Ryoma and Xander have appeared as the kings of their respective nations before in series 6 and 7 respectively. A man who carries the weight of his country on his back always looks pretty cool!
And they look so strooong! You can see the hopeful faces of their siblings behind them too, so wonderful!
W-Wait a minute! Isn't something terrible happening in that Corrin card!?
At the conclusion of the war of Revelations, Lord Corrin becomes monarch of Valla... this card depicts that. How regal.
We don't get to see it in the game, so this is an original design just for Cipher. I would like to draw your attention to the skills as well!
...capable of gaining skills from cards in the Boundless Area... so Corrin can use skills held by other Nohrian and Hoshidan cards... is that right...?
Depending on how you play, the card's possibilities can truly be boundless... the title of monarch is very fitting!
And of course, you can't talk about Corrin without bringing up their childhood friend--Silas is here too!
Sir Silas is built to offer strong support to Corrin! As one would expect of him!
The card on the right is that memory from their youth, where Silas is about to be killed and Corrin fights against it!
And a vow was sworn that day... it's enough to make you cry! Vallite Monarch Corrin is good, but this is pretty good too. Looking at cards like these makes Cipher's good points pretty clear.
Revelations is the center of this set... so we also have cards depicting the bonds forged between Nohr and Hoshido.
Wh-what's this!? Sakura is a Maid, and Elise is a Priestess!
So the Nohrians are in Hoshidan classes, and vice versa. The two countries have formed strong bonds and come to understand one another... or so appears to be depicted here.
That's right! There are other cards like these, too!
Well! How wonderful to see everyone in such fresh new designs.
...new units... new skills... I must begin collecting data...
And, we have cards based on the "Hidden Truths" and "Heirs of Fate" DLCs!
Oh, this is everyone from Hidden Truths!
Laslow, Selena, and Odin are summoned to another world by the mysterious, godlike figure Anankos, and the Lilith we know stands in their way as a fearsome enemy. It is a story full of a colorful cast of characters.
And these cards are the Kannas from Heirs of Fate!
These kids who search for their missing parents, legendary weapons in hand... it's great to see them working together to make it through!
This illustration of Lord Shigure is from the end of the story, where he throws the pendant he holds as a memento into the spring so that it may never again be found. This is yet another tearjerking scene.
Hoshido and Nohr... their skills are highly strategic, each will require extensive research...
Heehee... they all seem like a lot of fun to play with, how nice.
Next up are the Medallion cards from Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn!
Umm, Miss Shade...?
What is it, Emma?
There's a "Medallion" card in the Medallion cards...
Hahaha! What are you saying? That would be a strange card to...
Wh-wh-wh-what!? What is thiiis!?
Ufufu, were you surprised? Series 20 features a particular item that is central to the story of Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn... the Medallion, the Radiance series' Fire Emblem!
Sh... Shade! Cipher only contains cards of characters, does it not...? Does this mean the Medallion counts as a character!?
L-Let's not sweat the details! Take a look at its skills!
Hmm, what's this...? This is pretty amazing. If you're lucky, you can deploy a lot of allies, but if you're not... say goodbye to 'em all, yeah?
That's right! The story behind the medallion is the center of Series 20!
Oh... these cards show the final battle of Path of Radiance.
King Ashnard of Daein, who gained great power by touching the medallion, and young Sir Ike, who stands up against him.
According to my data... thanks to Ike's success in this battle, the medallion was reclaimed from Ashnard and the war between Daein and Crimea was ended... and the story is continued in Radiant Dawn, which takes place 3 years after this event... or so is written...
That's right! The main character of that story is the Silver-Haired Maiden, Micaiah.
She formed the Dawn Brigade in order to restore her homeland, Daein, and eventually became leader of the liberation army, isn't that right?
It is. We have plenty of other cards connected to the Dawn Brigade and said Liberation Army as well.
Yaaay! It's Mister Sothe! He looks cool, and his quote is super cool too!
Sir Edward and Sir Leonardo give off the impression of being trusted comrades in arms. I will need to get both of them and deploy them together.
And this Pelleas kid looks to be King Ashnard's son... not much family resemblance, is there...? And that aide of his, Izuka, that guy is fishy.
Radiant Dawn's story shifts between multiple perspectives as well. One of the other protagonists is Queen of Crimea, Elincia.
Elincia stands proud as monarch, very cool! I admire her!
Those who support her, Lady Lucia and Sir Geoffrey, are wonderful as well.
And of course, plenty of the shapeshifting Laguz appear in this set as well!
How beautiful Leanne looks! And this Reyson... is this the scene in the story after the people of the world are turned to stone?
The brave Lady Nailah stands out among the rest! Such powerful abilities... I want to witness her in a battle at least once in my life!
On top of all of that, we have cards depicting the legendary heroes of ages past in this series as well!
How divine! This is the goddess Ashunera. That means the other two are...
The lion Soan... and the leader of the dragons, Dheginsea...! These must be the legendary "three heroes" who served the goddess... I wonder what capabilities they will display in battle... interesting...
Hm? What's this...? Found another one!
This is... the goddess of chaos, Miss Yune, right!? She's a little mysterious... but she's so cute!
"I am chaos named"... so she will bring chaos to the battlefield. Making use of her well will be a great demonstration of one's skill!
Various peoples, various countries, goddesses and heroes... their fights and bonds forged around the medallion culminate in the final battle.
And the two who will put an end to that battle and save their people are the general chosen by the gods, Ike, and eventual Queen of Daein, Micaiah!!
So fancy! This illustration is awesome!
Seeing them smiling like this feels like it's ushering in a new era of peace!
Interesting skills as well... Ike has that Hero Skill that allows you to change your lord... and the other two skills have great potential as well...
If you level up Micaiah, you can use her to call strong heroes to the battlefield. Hehee, this will be perfect for putting bad children in their place.
These cards are wonderful displays of the excitement of Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn.
...well, I sort of introduced them all in one big flood... but what do you think of series 20, everyone?
There are so many cool characters and skills, I'm so hyped!
Vallite Monarch Corrin... if I only get one card, I want it to be that one! I will start preparing a deck for it at once!
I'm gonna make a deck with Ike and Micaiah. They seem like they'll make for an interesting force to fight.
Val! We will be making new decks immediately as well!
Of course, my lady. I have already begun preparations.
...all that's left... is to secure the new cards...!
Heehee... just this once, I am in agreement with Niamh.
Then that settles it! Well then, everyone...
