Cipher Frontier Issue 52
Issue 52: A Special Edition of That One Column!

Hello everyooone!!!!!!!!

This issue, we're going to host a special edition of that one corner again! Entitled...

Producer Kawade's All-Night Cipher: Business Trip Special!!!!!!!!

By "Producer Kawade's All-Night Cipher"... do you mean that segment they do on the Cipher livestreams where they read fanmail?
Aye. We display a variety of fanmails sent in by viewers.
Because of time constraints, they can only show a few on-stream, so we show off more of 'em here!
We can directly observe the thoughts of fans...... interesting......
Today, we will be showing fanmail sent in for the Special Winter 2020 Livestream held on 2/15.
If I recall... the theme was "Your most played Fire Emblem", wasn't it?
Yes! We had voice actresses Ai Kakuma and Minami Takahashi as guests, so we received a lot of drawings of Edelgard, Flora, and Peri!
Well, let's begin! First, mail sent in by Tsukasa and m5310!
Tsukasa has played over 300 hours of Binding Blade! That... that's amazing! And this Edelgard, the Peri card she's holding... both are so cute!
m5310's fanmail also contains a picture of Edelgard and Flora, both of whom are played by Ai Kakuma. Thank you!
Next are Sir Shiratsu and Lady Yukichiko's offerings!
Ohh~ Such a beautiful picture of Lady Edelgard! And her teddy bear... truly adorable! I want one for myself!
This fanmail doesn't just extend to the postcard, but even the application itself, so I'll show that off as well. This one is from Gatekeeper of the Northern Citadel! I will write the text from the application below.
  1. This is my first time sending something in.
My most played Fire Emblem game is Three Houses. It all started the day it came out and I became Professor of the Black Eagles class--I've never played a game this many times before.
As of writing this, it hasn't been released yet, but I am looking forward to exploring the mysteries of Abyss with Lady Edelgard!
Three Houses has a lot of replay value, so you can rack up time really quickly!
The Cindered Shadows side story has now been released, so we hope you enjoy, Gatekeeper of the Northern Citadel.
I've got this one from Ishiyama.
  1. When asked which Fire Emblem game I'd played the most, the first ones that came to mind were Genealogy of the Holy War and Three Houses, both of which I've played for over 200 hours. But thinking about it further, I think I've spent more hours playing Cipher.
    3 hours a week x 4 weeks x 12 months x 4 years = 576 hours.
Doing the math out, Cipher is far and away the Fire Emblem game I've spent the most time on. I hope to keep enjoying it at my pace in the future!
Cipher definitely counts! Happy to hear you've spent so much time on it. Don't wear yourself out, but we hope you keep having fun with it!
Next... fanmail from Miiko and Quasar...
Illustrations of various characters from Nohr and Hoshido... Fire Emblem: Fates is a story where the future is determined by the choices you make... interesting no matter which route you pick. Have fun with series 20...
My fanmail is from Touma.
  1. My most played Fire Emblem is New Mystery of the Emblem. I really recommend it to both newcomers and series veterans alike, it's a masterpiece. Lunatic mode in particular is great--it seems impossible at a first glance, but playing through it, you can appreciate the effort that went into balancing it perfectly so that it is conquerable.
In the past, I didn't have anyone who I could talk to about Fire Emblem, but I have made a lot of friends through Cipher. Thank you so much for making such an interesting game and giving me a space to find others.
New Mystery of the Emblem has a lot of new characters like Katarina and allows you to freely customize the gender and appearance of your My Unit, both of which I was really happy to see. How lovely to hear that you were able to make friends through Cipher!
I've got some from Shiba and Nowa!
Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn have solid stories supported by their wonderful characters! I can totally understand why people are a fan of these games!
This one comes from Ringo.
  1. My most played Fire Emblem game is Genealogy of the Holy War.
When I was in elementary school, I saw my brother playing it for the first time and picked it up myself.
As an adult, I bought it on the Wii Virtual Console and replayed it and spent time grinding weapons up to 100☆ to pass onto the children and using Dew to redistribute the money to everyone.
    I really love this game!
Genealogy of the Holy War can be played in many ways. Memories shared with your siblings are above all else!
Next up, Kaoru and Sui!
Kaoru plays Fire Emblem with her sisters. It looks like Sui has spent a lot of time on Binding Blade and Fates. Have fun with Three Houses!
Your illustrations are beautiful as well.
Here's one from Shougo Saiga.
  1. The question is what your most played Fire Emblem game is, but Blazing Blade is my most played game of all time.
Since it's a prequel to Binding Blade, you get to see familiar faces like Karel and Bartre in their younger days, you get to participate in the story as the tactician, and characters will even talk directly to you.
    Stay warm this winter, everyone.
Yeah, no doubt! Blazing Blade really feels like an extension of Binding Blade's story--very fun! Actually, the Bartres of both Blazing Blade and Binding Blade show up in series 21 as far as I've heard, so look forward to that!
Next... mail from Ryuusee and Kashiwamochi...
Thank you for participating in our Year's End Party... I hope all of our fans get to listen to Roy's voice in Heroic ABCs...
My, Kashiwamochi has created over 20 decks! Producer Kawade still makes a new deck every time a new series releases. It's fun to build a deck around the question of who to make your lord. I hope you play lots and lots of Cipher from here on out!
We received plenty more fanmail... but we unfortunately couldn't possibly show them all off, so let's cut it off here.
Thank you all for your fanmail and illustrations!
Your passionate feelings are a beautiful thing.
That's Fire Emblem love! I'm moved as well!
It's nice to do something like this every once in a while! Let's do it again sometime!
It kinda makes me want to write some fanmail too!
If you are looking for a pen and postcard, my lady, I can provide. Let us compose some together after this.
The messages keep coming... such variety... interesting...
Everyone...

Thank you for all of your letteeeers!!!!!!!!

And from here on out...

Have fun with Fire Emblem!!!!!!!!
