Issue 28: Events! Tour! Summer 2017 is a Summer of Cipher!
Hello! Is everyone having fun with Cipher?
Without a doubt! I've honed my skills further with Series 8--I'm feeling quite proficient.
Me too me too! Mister Randal has been giving me lots of advice lately! I made a Risen King Chrom deck and it was a lot of fuuun!
R...Risen King... wait, did you say you've been soliciting advice from Randal? It sounds like you're making quite the nasty deck...
Hah hah ha! Well, it's good to dip your toes into the things that grab your interest!
So, what are we talking about today, folks?
It's still spring... but the heat of summer is creeping up on us, right? That is to say...
This time is a Cipher Summer Event Special!
Ohhh! A special!!
Summer Event Special? What is that?
On 6/22, the new starter deck "Land of the Gods" and the new booster packs "Thundering Earth" will release with series 9, right? Around that time, there will be a plethora of Cipher events as well--let's go over them!
First is the "Kobe Girls-Only Meetup", which has been scheduled for Sunday, 6/4!
Yes, yes! Another girls-only meetup!!
A girls-only meetup... that is to say, a Cipher event only women can take part in.
Looks like I'm gonna have to sit this one out, but... sounds like all the girls-only meets up until now have been a lot of fun.
There will be Fire Emblem talk and Cipher battles without a doubt. I only hope that you all will attend!

On the weekend immediately following 6/22--the release date for series 9--they will also hold the Series 9 Hands-On Experience and Battle Meet-Up event in Tokyo and Osaka!
At the Hands-on Experience, the staff will explain all the rules of the game again, right?
Of course! They will demonstrate how to play the game with the brand new Land of the Gods starter deck.
I see myself attending the Battle Meet-Up. I want nothing more than to use the newest series 9 cards to test my blade against others!
It seems like there will also be a Newbies Corner at the Battle Meet-up this time. For people who know the rules, but don't really have much practical experience yet, y'know? Hope lots of people show up.
Tokyo's event will be on Saturday, 6/24, and Osaka's will be Sunday, 6/25. More details will be announced at the NicoNico livestream on 5/23 and on our website, so keep an eye out!
Hey, Shade, I think I heard something about another Pack Battle event, right?
Indeed you did. In card shops across the country, more Pack Battle Competitions will be held!
Pack battles, where you buy 5 booster packs on-site, use them to make a deck, and fight against others who have done the same. An interesting format to say the least!
I'm... still not very good at making decks, so if all I have to do is open up 5 packs and I can just use that to fight, that sounds easy enough for me!
I tested my hand at the format at Cipherfest, and during the series 8 release. A departure from the norm--it captured my interest. I will have to try it with series 9 as well!
Seems like they designed a new marker card for these pack battles, too.
What, really!? Then I've definitely gotta go!
They will be using booster packs from the "Thundering Earth" series this time. Best of luck, everyone.
And let's not forget! On Saturday, 7/1, the pièce de résistance of the summer events! The "Go! Go! Summer Tour!"

It doesn't have much of a meaning, but it does have an energy to it!
Yeah, I don't hate it. ...So, what kinda event is it?
It's an event filled with happenings that are fun for Cipher players and Fire Emblem fans alike--a mini concert, illustrator signings, battles, and more! And it will be held at 5 venues nationwide!
Ooh, the Cavalier Duo are performing another mini concert!? Awesome! I wonder if there will be any new additions to their setlist?
I have heard there will be new goods for sale as well. W-well, I would be pleased if there were anything... cute...
Hidari, character artist behind Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, will be making an appearance as well for illustration signings--among other artists!
Wow, he's a hot topic lately! Definitely wanna check that out. Any more details on scheduling?

First, packaging for the "Land of the Gods" starter deck and "Thundering Earth" booster packs!
Ohhh! Mister Alm and Miss Celica! And Mister Al and Mister Skrimir!!
Lookin' pretty cool. Yeah, I like it.
Hrmmm! Both will make worthy foes! I can hardly wait for the release date!
The starter deck will feature characters from Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, recently released for the 3DS.
It'll have a rulebok and a playsheet included, right?
Of course! Additionally, within the starter deck will be a DLC code for four items that you can use in "Echoes: Shadows of Valentia". That's something else!
Four items... I'm wonder what those could be...
I'll wait patiently while playing "Echoes: Shadows of Valentia"!
The booster series will contain not only character from Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, but also "Binding Blade", "Hasha no Tsurugi", "Path of Radiance" and "Radiant Dawn".
Booster Boxes will include Series 10 Promo Cards, 2nd Anniversary Reprint Cards, and Original Card Sleeves.
Right, right... so what do those card sleeves look like?
Ohh, it's the boxart for Fire Emblem: Gaiden and Echoes: Shadows of Valentia! So coool!
To see the old and the new side-by-side... you can feel the history behind Fire Emblem.
The sleeves are limited edition and can't be purchased otherwise, so if you want 'em, I recommend buying a box as soon as you can.
Oh yeah, that's right. I brought some card art they're using for series 9.

Additionally, there will be some additional content released for Echoes: Shadows of Valentia in collaboration with Cipher!
Oh! I know about this one! I saw it on the DLC page for Echoes: Shadows of Valentia"!
I think they're gonna release more details on that DLC and on series 9 at the next NicoNico livestream. Make sure to check that out if you want to learn more.
That livestream will take place on Saturday, 5/13. Don't forget it!
